This is actually one of my favourite books, amazing story, made me a little sick (good if that's the effect you are going for LOL) but the writing in this book is just so clever, I was left with a newfound respect for Mr King after reading this book.

Every teenager should read this amazing work of art, philosophy, history, science...can you ever look at your place in the universe in the same way again after this book - what is the nature of reality? And not only does it weave an amazing adventure story but it tells you in the most entertaining way, everything you could possibly want to know about the history of philosophy! AMAZING!!!

Pawn of Prophecy (Belgariad)
Another fantasy book that hooked me in to the genre and delighted and inspired me to write myself. I fell in love with the character of Garion and ALL the characters that David Eddings explores in this and the other books of this series. He is an amazing writer who just weaves a dream for you to experience and the duality of good and evil is explored through magic in a delightful way. I really was drawn into Garion's world, right from his childhood in his Aunt Pol's kitchen to his rise of power and ultimate adult mistakes and lessons learned about pride and love - fantastic book, in my opinion a fantasy classic!
